Below are some helpful local and national online resources for help with small business planning, financing, accounting, payroll, expansion planning and other strategic business advisory guidance and services.

SCORE
Counselors to America’s Small Business or SCORE offers free online and face-to-face business consulting, mentoring and training.  Lead by retired executives with a wealth of background knowledge and experiences, SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and the formation, growth and success of small business.

SBDC
The Small Business Development Center is an SBA resource center which provides management assistance to current and prospective small business owners.  The website provides information about funding and grants and offers free over-the-phone answers to business start-up and management questions.

FVTC Venture Center
The Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College is an integrated entrepreneurship center providing programming and services in three areas: entrepreneurial studies, business development and innovation.

Entrepreneur Magazine
Entrepreneur Magazine covers the gamut with ideas and how-to guides for numerous types of small businesses including franchise opportunities and home based businesses.

Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network
Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network’s mission is to provide seamless access to the statewide network of entrepreneurial resources and expertise to create new ventures, help grow existing business, and move forward high potential entrepreneurs to enable Wisconsin to be competitive in a global economic environment.

SBA
The Small Business Administration site offers many different tools for the small business owner as well as information on the various financing products the SBA supports.

Wisconsin On-Line Business Services
Wisconsin On-Line Business Services provides tools to make it easier for a business owner or a business starter to interact with Wisconsin Stage agencies.  This website can help you locate a site for your business, apply for licenses and permits and search for information on helpful businesses and nonprofit organizations registered with the government.

The Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation
The Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation is a statewide economic development corporation that provides quality business education and financing to Wisconsin’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Wisconsin SBA
The Wisconsin Small Business Administration site is similar to the federal site but with additional information pertinent to the State of Wisconsin.

NFIB
The National Federation of Independent Business site offers members discounts on everything from insurance to computers as well as useful resources and information.

IRS.gov Small Business Site
The Federal government’s Internal Revenue Service site has a section devoted to small business and the self employed.  The site has articles and forms needed by small business owners.
